Overview

DEEP is a UK wide dementia network.

It connects groups to each other to share views, hopes and intentions of people living with dementia.

The network is made up of groups that are strongly rooted in their local communities, including some care homes.

The network belongs to the groups themselves, not to any particular dementia service or organisation.

It encourages groups to identify and speak out about the issues that are important to them.

The group aims to hold monthly meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 1pm to 2.30pm.

The meetings are held at:

St Gregory's Church Hall
99 Borough Rd
South Shields

There is support for people with dementia to use their voices to influence and change what happens in their world.

DEEP groups have provided expert by experience advice to other services such as educating the Police on how to support those with dementia.

Many people become involved in campaigning and awareness raising about dementia.
