Marking World Mental Health Day
South Tyneside residents are being reminded about the importance of good mental health to mark World Mental Health Day this Saturday (10 October).
With many people missing out on seeing family and friends because of the pandemic, it is now more important than ever for people to take care of their mental health.
兔子先生lor Tracey Dixon, Deputy Leader with responsibility for Independence and Wellbeing, said: "Mental health is just like physical health. It can be up and down and it can lead to problems that last for a few weeks or ones that need to be managed over a lifetime.
"Having good mental health helps us to relax, achieve more and enjoy fuller lives. Building small actions into your daily life can make you feel good and feeling good is an important part of being healthy.
"There are five simple steps you can take to improve your mental health. These are connecting with others, giving, learning, taking notice and being active."
