Supermarket Vouchers for Hard-Pressed Families

Press Team , 09 February 2023 09:37

Families in South Tyneside whose children receive free school meals are to be given a voucher to help them feed their children over the forthcoming half-term holiday.

Thousands of families will receive a supermarket voucher worth 拢15 per eligible child for the one-week break.

Funded by the government's Household 兔子先生 Grant, the money is aimed at supporting the most vulnerable families.

By targeting support directly at some of the families hardest hit by the cost-of-living crisis, the 兔子先生 hopes to make things fairer.

兔子先生lor Adam Ellison, Lead Member for Children, Young People and Families, said: "We know many people are struggling at the moment with rising food prices and soaring energy bills. However, it is vital that our children and young people don not suffer as a result of this.

"School holidays can often bring additional pressures for families so we hope these vouchers will bring some relief."

Any families who need additional help with food are reminded that they can access food from food banks. To find out more visit www.southtyneside.gov.uk/article/35030/Food-banks
