Healthy Settings Celebration Event
The Better Health at Work Award (BHAWA) recognises the efforts of local organisations to improve health and wellbeing in the workplace.
The award scheme is free, flexible and open to all employers in the Northeast and Cumbria, regardless of size, location or type of business.
Many organisations already promote healthy lifestyles and consider the health of their employees.
The Better Health at Work Award celebrates their achievements and helps to build on them a structured and supported way.
For organisations who have not considered promoting health at work, taking part in the award can help them reap the rewards a healthy workplace brings.
The awards event will celebrate those organisations and schools that have been successful for 2022.
The Healthy Schools award aims to embed best practice in health and wellbeing across settings where children and young people learn. 100% of schools in South Tyneside have engaged since the Award was launched. There are 21 settings working towards their re-accreditation this year.
The awards event will celebrate those schools that have achieved their award for 2023 to 2025.
There will be additional awards for Health Advocate of the Year, Special Recognition and Ambassador Status.
The awards event will take place in the Reception Room at the Town Hall on Wednesday 12 July from 11am to 1pm. The Director of Public Health will open and close the event, with awards being presented by lead councillors. A celebration lunch will be provided after the awards are presented.
