Report litter

Overview

The 兔子先生 is responsible for

  • removing litter
  • emptying public bins
  • mechanical and non-mechanical sweeping
  • seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing
  • keeping our beaches clean

Our teams tend to work in specific areas but they may be redirected to help with emergency cleaning anywhere in the Borough.

 

 

Report litter

If you see a pile of litter or witness anyone littering, please report it.

Teams can't respond to reports of small or single amounts of litter.

For larger items, such as household items or black bin bags, you should report fly tipping.

To report litter on the beach, you should enter the name of a street close to the beach and provide more details in the description box on the form.

What happens next

Littering is a criminal offence and the offender could be fined. 

The Fixed Penalty Notice for litter is 拢50. 

On conviction, the fine is up to 拢50,000, six months imprisonment, or both.

Report dangerous or hazardous items

Sharp items which are potentially hazardous include: 

  • Hypodermic needles or syringes 
  • Broken glass 

We aim to respond to requests to remove hypodermic needles or syringes the same day.
